As a person-centered therapist, I believe there is potential to help anyone interested in working with me regardless of their reasons for coming to therapy. That being said, I enjoy working with folks who struggle with anxiety, gender and sexual identities, neurodivergence, self-concept or self-worth, complex and religious trauma, relationship issues, and grief. I am an LGBTQIA+ and relationship-affirming therapist and I'm very passionate about working with people in marginalized groups. I believe that everyone needs a therapist who can listen with compassion and understanding. In our sessions I will try my best to embody the person-centered ideal of being a “fellow traveler” rather than an expert or teacher. I love learning about others' perspectives and enjoy having deep, existential conversations. My intention is to create a safe space for you to share your highs, lows, and everything in between. I am passionate about social justice and identify as a feminist and atheist. I enjoy conversations exploring the impact of systemic oppression, capitalism, and the patriarchy in our daily lives. Together we will seek to find insight into who you are because I believe that this can lead to powerful change.

I see psychotherapy as an opportunity to explore the stories of our lives with the hope of finding healing in our ability to connect more deeply with ourselves and one another other, gain insight, flexibility, compassion, and freedom. I specialize in working with individuals who are looking to heal from trauma, past or ongoing traumatic stress, sexual and gender-based violence, spiritual abuse, and grief. My practice is relational, trauma-focused and is rooted in Feminist, Relational-Cultural, and Attachment Theories. I have specialized training in several therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, which allows my work to be eclectic and flexible to your needs. The process of finding a therapist can be intimidating. I'm happy to give you a chance to get to know me, my style, and get a feel for what it would be like to work with me. I offer a consultation session at no charge. I look forward to meeting you!

Each of us faces a whole host of challenges in our lives. Whether these are challenges from our past that are still affecting us today or situations that are ongoing. Or maybe we’re having a tough time with life in general, and we’re not sure why that is, where it’s coming from, or even how to begin to process what we’re struggling with. Whatever you may be facing, my goal in counseling is to help provide you with the space to explore whatever you are experiencing or have experienced. I want to create a space where you feel heard, seen, and understood. That way we can begin exploring what you need and want to explore, and it feels safe and helpful to do so.

Welcome, welcome, WELCOME! All my life I have believed that a person needs to be the change they want to see in the world. Thus my practice is one where people are free to learn, to grow, to express themselves freely and without judgement about whatever ails them. This could be daily life struggles of riding public transportation, or more philosophical questions about the meaning of life, and everything in between. All it takes to start is the willingness to have a conversation. I take a trauma focused, client first approach which makes getting that conversation started even easier! With having a DECADE of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in structural cognitive reality therapy as a certified trauma therapist. Thus I'm able to adapt and match my counseling style to serve a variety of clients, ranging from anxiety to depression to more complicated mood and behavioral disorders, such as bipolar and schizophrenia. Every journey starts with the first step. Let your first step be reaching out to me and seeing if I can help with whatever ails you. Everyone could benefit from having a life coach in their corner. Let me be yours.

Adults and parents come to this clinic wondering why things are so difficult in their or their child's lives. They often wonder whether their brain functions differently, like whether they may have ADHD or autism, memory concerns, or even a learning disability that was never addressed. Many feel as though they or their child have been "missed" by the school or mental health systems, or that other evaluators did not take their concerns seriously. In these cases, I will serve as your co-pilot to help you craft your evaluation questions and I'll help you make sense of the data we collect about you. The Discovery Clinic offers neurodivergent-friendly psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities, and related concerns. I use an affirming approach that helps people understand their unique strengths, preferences, and needs, and how to make successful adaptations to make life easier or more enjoyable. I have over two decades of experience working with neurodivergent individuals. I have conducted psychological and neuropsychological evaluations in school settings, inpatient brain injury hospital settings, primary care, and now in private practice. I hope to create an experience that helps your answer your questions in non-pathologizing ways.

Specializing in attachment and trauma, I work with individuals who are seeking to gain greater freedom to make choices around how they live in the world. This may include increasing overall well-being, developing resources for coping, and/or creating a clearer sense of purpose. Often our negative experiences can result in disconnection from our relationships, dissociation or difficulty participating wholly in our experiences, and addictive patterns. Therapy can help us to return to a more intuitive way of living which is centered in curiosity and compassion through connection. My specialties include attachment, dissociative disorders, trauma and PTSD, chemical addiction, and hoarding. I am prepared to assist clients with issues related to identity, including systemic discrimination and/or trauma related to race, ethnicity, gender, and/or sexual orientation. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR.
