I see psychotherapy as an opportunity to explore the stories of our lives with the hope of finding healing in our ability to connect more deeply with ourselves and one another other, gain insight, flexibility, compassion, and freedom. I specialize in working with individuals who are looking to heal from trauma, past or ongoing traumatic stress, sexual and gender-based violence, spiritual abuse, and grief. My practice is relational, trauma-focused and is rooted in Feminist, Relational-Cultural, and Attachment Theories. I have specialized training in several therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, which allows my work to be eclectic and flexible to your needs. The process of finding a therapist can be intimidating. I'm happy to give you a chance to get to know me, my style, and get a feel for what it would be like to work with me. I offer a consultation session at no charge. I look forward to meeting you!

Adults and parents come to this clinic wondering why things are so difficult in their or their child's lives. They often wonder whether their brain functions differently, like whether they may have ADHD or autism, memory concerns, or even a learning disability that was never addressed. Many feel as though they or their child have been "missed" by the school or mental health systems, or that other evaluators did not take their concerns seriously. In these cases, I will serve as your co-pilot to help you craft your evaluation questions and I'll help you make sense of the data we collect about you. The Discovery Clinic offers neurodivergent-friendly psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities, and related concerns. I use an affirming approach that helps people understand their unique strengths, preferences, and needs, and how to make successful adaptations to make life easier or more enjoyable. I have over two decades of experience working with neurodivergent individuals. I have conducted psychological and neuropsychological evaluations in school settings, inpatient brain injury hospital settings, primary care, and now in private practice. I hope to create an experience that helps your answer your questions in non-pathologizing ways.

I believe therapy is most effective when the clinician presents themselves as the client does-a person with a unique past and personality. When you take out a therapist’s humanity and lived experience, there is no true therapeutic connection and trust from the client. That’s why I strive to be both a person and therapist through my conversational, authentic, and collaborative style. I am experienced in serving those with chronic mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, psychosomatic symptoms, and somatic disorders. View 4 Photos I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which has become one of the “go to” trauma treatments supported by research. It can help significantly in reducing symptoms related to PTSD as well as various other issues. I am also a Certified Trauma Professional and received a certificate in integrative somatic psychology for trauma. I utilize somatic, body-based based, and trauma informed modalities such as Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness, and movement to address physical symptoms of trauma and anxiety. I am also knowledgeable in DBT and CBT. It would be my pleasure to serve as both your guide and companion on your journey to wellness!

For me, the ideal client would be someone who is ready to embark on their journey to find what they need or is missing from their life. Not all people need the same things to feel balanced or happy. Not all people experience the same things. Not all people are looking to get the same things out of therapy. With this information, my goal is to meet you where you are and to support you in building the life you are seeking. To the clients that may be apprehensive or unsure of what you need, that's okay too. I will explore this with you and help you to figure that out. As a counselor-intern, my goal is to assess your needs and meet you where you are. Therapy can be scary and is often a big step to take. However, my goal is to welcome you to a safe and unbiased environment to discuss what you need from me, as well as how I can help support you to overcome any challenges and to achieve your personal goals. I am a driven, patient, and goal-oriented. I have had personal hardships of my own that I have worked through and overcome. I have several years of experience working with children with autism. I also have experience working with clients who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, and a history of trauma.
